This unit introduces trainers to the core LLN skills as outlined in the Australian Core Skills Framework. The program covers the knowledge required to recognise the LLN demands of the training specifications and the workplace as well as identifying the core LLN skill levels of an individual. This allows trainers and assessors to provide a suitable level of support for learners with LLN issues in both delivery and assessment strategies and learning resources. This unit has become a mandatory unit for Trainers and Assessors who may hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
To enrol in any units from the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, participants must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
It is beneficial for participants to have access to a workplace, however if this is not possible The Pivot Institute is able to provide you with a realistic simulated environment to complete assessment. Strong literacy and numeracy skills are required. Participants must also have access to a computer with internet to complete the course requirements.
Broad Learning Outcomes:
- Analyse language, literacy and numeracy requirements.
- Select and use resources and strategies to address LLN skill requirements.
- Use specialist support where required.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning support and assessment strategies in addressing LLN requirements.
Modes of Delivery:
Face-to-face – this program is delivered as a one day workshop. A start on assessment is made in the workshop and you will be required to complete additional activities and assessment following the workshop.
Supported Distance Learning - you will be provided with a hard copy pack including your learners guide, assessment materials and all relevant supporting material. You will also be provided with an log in access to the Pivot Online Learning System (POLS). This platform holds all the learning material, assessment requirements, resources, needed to complete the unit.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) - if you have experience in this area and the knowledge and skills as outlined in the unit RPL may be an option. RPL assesses the knowledge and skill you already hold and must be based on evidence which can be matched against the unit. RPL costs are 50% of the course cost.
If you are uncertain of the best pathway for yourself or your team, please call or email today on (08) 9221 1803 or email@example.com
You will be provided with a Candidate Assignment Booklet with a series of tasks relevant to the unit. We work to ensure that the tasks are clear and you have the right support and resources to undertake your assessment.
